I am currently a student at the Dunedin School of Art. Maybe one day this website will be a shop, but for now it’s documenting my learning, and love of clay.

I have been extremely fortunate in being able to be part of the soda firing team at the Otago Potters Group. It’s been a blast learning how to fire the kiln, and such fun trying new slip and glaze recipes.

The science and stories that go into all these creations. This section (will one day) contains blog posts, presentations and other teaching resources about the technical aspects of our art.

My adult introduction to clay was in Christchurch when my flatmate signed me up for an intermediate wheel throwing class. Yes it was harder than it looked, and we certainly should not have started in that class!

Despite the frustration I persisted, and now throwing is my preferred way to make, or at least start a piece.

I am currently studying part time at the Dunedin School of Art, and am halfway through a level six diploma in ceramics.
